The RangeMax Next and RangeMax Wireless-N line of products from NETGEAR consists of routers, adapters, and access points targeted primarily to home or small office deployments. The gear is all Draft 802.11n compliant, with backwards compatibility to 802.11a or 802.11b/g connections (depending on model). The products can deliver up to 270 or 300 Mb/sec wireless transmissions; again, depending on model.

Features common to the entire product line include management via a browser-based GUI, an internal antenna design, NAT support and Stateful Packet Inspection firewalls in the routers, 64- and 128-bit WEP encryption, WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK, DoS attack protection, IDS, and DMZ support.

In the original RangeMax Next camp of product offerings are the "T" series WNR854T router, the WN511T notebook (PC Card) adapter, and the WN802T access point; supporting wireless speeds of up to 300 Mb/sec when used with compatible gear. The WNR854T router, in particular, boasts Gigabit speeds for wired connections via a built-in five port Gigabit switch.

Also included among the RangeMax Next offerings are the "B" series offerings: WNR834B router, the DG834N router, and the WN511B notebook card; which can interoperate at speeds of up to 270 Mb/sec with compatible gear. The WNR834B router includes a single WAN and 4 LAN ports (all 10/100); ditto the DG834N. The DG834N also sports a built-in ADSL2+ modem for WAN connectivity (up to 24 Mb/sec).

Also listed in the Next product line is the WN311, a draft 802.11n PCI adapter (in "B" and "T" flavors, as above); and the WN121T and WN111 adapters, which are USB adapters in cable attached and dongle flavors, respectively.

New entries in the Wireless-N product line drop the "Next" label and are referred to as RangeMax Wireless-N. These include the dual-band Wireless N router WNDR3300 with support for both 2.5 and 5 GHz connectivity (and fallback to 802.11a or 802.11b/g) and a built-in 4 port (10/100) switch; The WNR3500 router (2.5 GHz) with a built-in four port Gigabit Ethernet switch; the WNDA3100 dual-band USB adapter dongle (with support for both 2.5 and 5 GHz Wireless-N connections); and the WNHDE111 5 GHz access point (with fallback to 802.11a only) with support for AP or Bridge-mode deployments.

The new gear is all available now; with pricing set at $129.99 (WNDR3300), $159.99 (WNR3500), $129.99 (WNHDE111), and $99.99 (WNDA3100).
