The metal VLTP-112 printer is specifically designed for mobile applications; according to the vendor the unit operates even in extreme low and high temperature conditions. Its size (1 DIN) allows it to be mounted in any vehicle (truck or car) or small work area. Example uses include as a status message printer for mobile communications systems or, while in graphic mode, it can print information and barcodes. The printer can be connected to various handheld terminals, PDAs, onboard computer terminals or laptops. The VLTP-112 uses direct thermal printing technology providing variable character sizes, 40 or 80 characters per line as well as full graphic printout.

The VLTP-112 uses Seiko Instruments mechanisms. The printer requires a power supply ranging from 12 to 35 VDC and supports serial (RS232) interface.

Bluetooth and IrDA interfaces are optional.
