Networking* Submit Products * NetAdvisor, NetWarrior, NetAgentQoSmetrics provides tools--available separately--for network performance analysis; from software only utilities for help-desk-directed end-user desktop use; to hardware probes for carriers or enterprises. Among their current offerings: - On-Demand NetAgent is a service provider and enterprise Web-based management application capable of running real-time on-demand diagnostics direct from a user's desktop; to identify bottlenecks, packet loss, equipment failures and other network problems with a user's service. With this version of QoSmetrics' NetAgent application, a customer can call their service provider's technical support and be instructed to launch the application on the fly. For enterprises, network managers can now support remote offices with testing and diagnostics. According to the vendor, this platform will diagnose service problems that are typically only reserved for diagnosis via network hardware probes installed within a service provider or enterprise network. With QoSmetrics' NetAgent, end users will be able to measure performance and diagnose a host of service problems directly from their end. Entirely web-based, QoSmetrics' NetAgent will require no pre-deployment by users and performs testing and measurement including packet probing and packet bursting to identify issues such as TCP connection issues, latency, bandwidth measurement, packet loss, equipment failure, application access issues and more. NetAgent's online on-demand approach dissociates core network from access network issues right up to a customer's premise equipment (CPE) or workstation. - V-Factor NetWarrior now includes technology that allows carriers, service providers and enterprises to analyze the quality and performance of digitized MPEG streaming video in real time. The upgrade stems from QoSmetrics' newly developed V-Factor technology. V-Factor provides specific delay, loss and jitter metrics and accuracy to network performance impairments. According to the vendor, V-Factor will allow for video quality measurement from a central network point but with the foresight of how a user might perceive them at their end point. V-Factor upgrades will be available by the end of April in a QoSmetrics general release version 3.3 for existing customers and will be shipped as part of new product purchases for video testing applications in the same timeframe. Release 3.3 provides a new microcode for QoSmetrics NetWarrior hardware probes that will provide real time video streaming decoding and video quality monitoring. This new addition provides, as with previous products, Internet Protocol (IP) Service Level Agreement (SLA) metrics such as delay, loss and jitter based on the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) standard Y1540/1. It also provides metrics for Voice-over-IP (VoIP) such as Mean Opinion Score (MOS) capabilities based on ITU G107 and Video-over-IP metrics based on QoSmetrics' V-Factor and European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) TR101290 metrics, as well as other Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Example uses include deployers of voice and video applications such as Internet-Protocol-TV (IPTV) and triple play (data, voice and video) applications; or aggregation points such as a Point of Presence (POP) that connects a DSL Access Multiplexer (DSLAM) device to the multicast network. - QoSmetrics' NetAdvisor is a central software monitoring solution that can be deployed in a service provider's control room. Users can access the NetAdvisor using their Web browser. NetAdvisor provides both secured and un-secured access to users. The V-Factor microcode resides in NetWarrior, QoSmetrics hardware probe, but V-Factor can also be ported to other network appliances such as a setup box. send info about NetAdvisor, NetWarrior, NetAgent Suggest a link for the NetAdvisor, NetWarrior, NetAgent fact sheet
