SafeMessage 2.0

Self Destructing Peer To Peer Messaging

The SafeMessage system, targeted primarily to corporations and ISPs, allows individuals to send and receive encrypted, self-destructing E-Mail messages that never travel through standard E-Mail servers. In this way, security is increased and legal liability is reduced, due to the fact that multiple copies of the message are not stored throughout the transmission path of the message through the Internet.

In order to make use of the system, both sender and recipient must use the SafeMessage program. The system is not compatible with existing E-Mail clients, using its own encryption scheme and transmission protocols.

When users send a message through SafeMessage, they may select an exipration date for the message such that when the message has reached that age it will be both removed and overwritten on their own and all recipient's systems. If the recipient user is currently online (i.e., has the SafeMessage program running and is logged into the SafeMessage server), the message can be sent directly to them - bypassing mail servers and therefore sent as encrypted data packets only that are not stored anywhere along the transmission path. If the recipient is not online, the sender is notified and may opt to let SafeMessage continue to try sending the message in the background (waiting for the recipient to come on line) or send the message in encrypted form to the SafeMessage server for delivery when the recipient next logs in. In this latter delivery mode, even the SafeMessage server is unable to decypher the stored message.

New features in the latest release of SafeMessage include support for HTML and graphics in transmitted messages, the ability to drag-n-drop Microsoft Word files into a SendMessage message, and the ability of licensees to add or delete authorized users to the system.

SafeMessage is available now. Pricing is determined by server site-licenses; interested parties shoud contact AbsoluteFuture for further details.
